For Jimmy Page: The Anthology, Jimmy Page is sharing hundreds of items from his private collection including costumes, stage equipment and instruments that have had a profound impact on the history of rock. The collection has been specially photographed under Jimmy Page’s art direction, from the curation of the items, to the lighting and the composition. Each photograph tells a story, revealing fine details such as the stitching, the wood grain, the wear and tear – all the marks of a phenomenal rock and roll career.
Now, Jimmy Page has selected a number of photographs to be made available as large format (20”x30”) archival prints. Presented in artist editions of only 75 numbered copies, each print is signed by Jimmy Page with a certificate of authenticity accompanying the final artwork. Printed in lightfast Giclée inks onto 100% cotton rag paper, Jimmy Page: The Anthology Portfolio celebrates the instruments, costumes and equipment of a musical genius in a collection of museum quality prints.
“This set-up of the Rickenbacker cabinets, Fender Telecaster and Danelectro was what I played during the time of the Yardbirds. And that’s what I was using for the very early shows of Led Zeppelin — at the Fillmore in San Francisco, etc. The Telecaster was replaced by the Gibson Les Paul, purchased from Joe Walsh, and that went on with the Rickenbackers and Vox amps to record ‘Whole Lotta Love’, and to be my main guitar from that point onwards, through to the O2.” – Jimmy Page
The set-up for ‘Whole Lotta Love’: Danelectro 3021 (1963–65); Gibson Les Paul Standard ‘Number One’ – sunburst (1959); Fender ‘Dragon’ Telecaster (1959); Vox UL7120 amplifier (1966 – this is not Jimmy’s original, but a similar model); Vox C02 ‘Long Tom’ tape echo (1965); and Rickenbacker Transonic speaker cabinets (1969).
